2021

Congratulations to Professors Yu Zhou, Bernd R. Noack and Mahbub Md. Alam whose names appear in the upper ranks of the most recent single year list of the Web of Science highly cited researchers. This list contains the top 100,000 out of seven million scientists in all disciplines and all countries and is released by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis' team of Stanford University.

Highlights: Our academic staff have published more than 40 articles in journals, with 17 of them in JFM, PRF, PoF, JFS, EiF, FTC, and secured 3 NSFC projects in 2019. The 5th Symposium on Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control was held in Greece and over 100 scholars presented their latest research work at the conference. Prof. Zhou and Prof. Alam have given keynote talks at five international conferences.

Symposium organized by CTC:

  1. Symposium on Reynolds number effect: implications for understanding and controlling turbulence was held in March 27-29, 2019. This meeting is inspired by Professor R.A. Antonia's contributions to turbulence research, including the effect of Reynolds number on turbulent flows, the response of a turbulent boundary layer to sudden changes in surface conditions, the identification of large-scale organized motions in turbulent shear flows, and an improved understanding of small-scale turbulence.
  2. The 5th Symposium on Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control (FSSIC2019) was jointly organized by Institute of Fluid Mechanics of Toulouse (France) and University of Strasbourg (France), and held in Crete, Greece, August 27-30, 2019.

2017

Highlights: Our academic staff have published more than 20 articles in journals, with 11 of them in JFM, PoF, JFS, AIAAJ and secured 2 NSFC projects in 2017. Prof. Zhou becomes the 1st president of the Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control Society since September 1, 2017. The 4th Symposium on Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control was held in Japan and over 150 scholars presented their latest research work at the conference. Prof. Alam and Dr. Wong have received the title of “Nanshan District High-Level Talents”.
