Center for Turbulence Control (CTC), which is formerly known as Institute of Turbulence-Noise-Vibration Interactions and Control (ITNVIC), was established in 2011, with a view to perform scientific research that leads to engineering applications. Our work focuses on the understanding of the mechanisms of fluid-structure-sound interactions and control through experimental, numerical and theoretical research and the application of research results for solving practical engineering problems that closely related to the economic development of China and the recently emphasized Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

CTC has four major laboratories, including the Wind Tunnel Laboratory, Water Tunnel Laboratory, Shenzhen Digital Engineering Laboratory of Offshore Equipment and Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. CTC has a total of eight full-time faculty members, including two 1000-Talents-Plan professors, one Young 1000-Talents-Plan professor, three associate professors, two assistant professors. All faculty members obtained their doctoral degrees from the world-class universities and with strong research background in the field of turbulence, flow-induced vibration, flow control, aeroacoustics, turbulence flow measurement technology and computational fluid dynamics. CTC now has a total of 110 master and doctoral students, with more than 30 postgraduate students graduating each year. In the last five years, our faculty members have published 2 edited books, more than 136 articles in top-notch journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physical Review Fluids, Physics of Fluids, Journal of Fluids and Structures, Experiments in Fluids and AIAA Journal, and undertaken 17 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, 1 Shenzhen Engineering Laboratory project, 17 Shenzhen Science and Technology projects, and other industrial projects with DJI, CGN, etc., securing over 52 million RMB in funding.
